- 205 denotes the nominal section width of the tyre in mm and the 45 denotes a percentage described as the aspect ration and represents the height of the tyre wall as a percentage of the nominal section width.
- R denotes radial construction and the 16 denotes the size of the tyres inner rim in inches.
- 83 denotes the load capacity for the tyre and the V denotes the top speed for the tyre at full load.
